Spring Break Camps Announced
Happy February, Dancing House families! đ
Whether youâre cozied up watching the big game or simply soaking in a quiet winter weekend, thank you so much for being here and taking a few minutes to read our monthly update from The Dancing House. This is our little corner of the internet where we share whatâs happening in the studio and what exciting things are just around the corner.
As the temperatures finally start creeping above freezing (hallelujah đ), weâre leaning into one of our favorite parts of the season â consistency. Fewer breaks, steady routines, and lots of focused learning. Itâs the time of year when growth really happens. And while the schedule can feel full, weâre committed to keeping every class fun, energizing, and packed with meaningful progress, because around here, dance education should challenge students and light them up at the same time.
đ The Dancing House Team

TDHPC and Competition Dancers kick off their Season at INnovate!
Speaking of Company and Competition⌠our dancers wrapped up January with one of our favorite traditions â attending INnovate Dance Event on January 23rd and 24th and it was such a meaningful, full-heart weekend.
INnovate isnât just another competition. Itâs an experience.
Our girls took master classes from incredible industry professionals, pushed themselves outside their comfort zones, and soaked up new ideas and inspiration. They gave back through the dance community by supporting the Open Door Food Pantry, and they had their pieces adjudicated â receiving thoughtful, professional feedback to help them grow.
That outside perspective is so valuable.
It helps dancers see whatâs working, what can improve, and how to level up their training in a healthy, constructive way.
And the timing couldnât be better.
As competition season begins, our dancers are stepping on stage with routines theyâve been working on all year. INnovate gives them the confidence and clarity to walk into that season stronger, smarter, and more prepared â not just to âcompete,â but to grow.
We love everything this event stands for: learning, community, service, and heart.
Miss Melissa has been part of the INnovate family since the very beginning, and itâs always a privilege to support the beautiful work theyâre doing in the dance world.
Because at The Dancing House, itâs never just about trophies.
Itâs about becoming better dancers⌠and even better humans.
Our Signature Six-Week Sessions Are Open!

Our 4th session of six-week classes is now open to the public, and these sessions truly are the heart of The Dancing House. Itâs what weâre known for â beginner-friendly, welcoming, and designed to meet dancers exactly where they are. Families love the six-week format because it feels approachable and low-pressure. Instead of committing to a long season, dancers (and parents!) can try something new in a short, focused window of time, build real skills, gain confidence, and see progress quickly â all while having a ton of fun. Itâs the perfect âyes, letâs try itâ option.
And itâs not just for kids. We offer adult classes in our six-week sessions, too â because dance is for every age and stage of life. Whether youâre a tiny twirler stepping into your very first class or an adult coming back to the barre after years away, thereâs a place for you here.
So many of our lifelong dancers started with a simple six-week session. Itâs amazing what can grow in just six weeks.
Our Six-Week Session Class Lineup:
 Monday 5:25p â 4â5yr Tap/Ballet SOLD OUT

TDHPC and Competition Dancers Capture their Season with Mielrosse Photography

This past week was such a fun one here at The Dancing House, and one of the highlights was welcoming Izzy from Mielrose Photography into the studio to photograph our Company and Competition dancers.
Izzi did an absolutely beautiful job capturing not just the technique and strength of our dancers, but their personalities and heart, too. Sheâs not only incredibly talented behind the camera, sheâs also a genuinely wonderful human and a Platinum Sponsor of The Dancing House â which makes supporting and showcasing her work even more special to us.
We love partnering with people who truly care about our kids and our community. Sheâll be back in April to photograph our full year students (we canât wait!), but for now, hereâs a little glimpse of our Company and Competition dancers. Weâre so happy with how everything turned out and so grateful for the magic she creates.
TDH's Invitation to Our Company and Competition Program

If your dancer is interested in taking their training to the next level, now is a great time to learn more about our Performance Company and Competition Program. These programs are designed for dancers who are ready for deeper education, mentorship, and growthâboth in and out of the studio. Read the blog to learn more about our approach to dance education and what makes our programs unique.
For those of you who take class already, you may receive an invitation to audition for our company and competition lines. Auditions are in August. Please reach out to thedancinghousehudsonwi@gmail.com to learn more and talk with Miss Sophi.Â
Whether you are just starting out, or want tools, tips and tactics to take your dancing to the next level - Private lessons are a great way to get there.
"I love how you explain it!Â
You tell us exactly what muscles we should be feeling & how we need to engage them so we can dance even bigger!"Â
And that's why you work with a professional coach!
Here at The Dancing House, we excel in teaching proper technique so that dancers can have a full and healthy dance career - at any age. Â
We give students focused and energetic time filled with hands-on corrections, metaphors and analogies, strength and conditioning exercises, topped off with a healthy dose of positive encouragement!
Dancers walk out of their coaching session with a new vibrance in their dancing because they are quickly able to level up and confidently walk into their next class, audition or performance.Â

Giving Back Together at FMSC

One of the most meaningful parts of our weekend had nothing to do with the stage at all.
It had everything to do with heart.
Our dancers had the opportunity to give back by volunteering with Feed My Starving Children, an organization Ms. Melissa has supported for many, many years. Itâs something she deeply believes in â and something we love sharing with our studio family.
Because at The Dancing House, we donât just teach dance.
We teach compassion.
We teach service.
We teach our students that their gifts can make a difference in the world.
So when families showed up at 5:00pm on a Friday evening to pack meals for kids in need, it meant so much. Watching our dancers work side by side â laughing, scooping, sealing, packing â knowing their hands were helping feed children across the globe⌠thatâs the kind of impact that lasts a lifetime.
Hereâs a snapshot of our group this year and the difference they made.
Moments like this remind us:
Weâre not just raising great dancers.
Weâre raising great humans.
Calling All TDH Models!
Do we have any models in the house? â¨
As we refresh our website and marketing, weâre inviting a small group of dancers to help represent The Dancing House in an upcoming staged photoshoot with our instructors â and weâd love to feature you!
These will be posed, guided photos (not live class photos), showing instructors teaching and dancers learning. Think: beautiful action shots, smiles, technique, and all the heart that makes our studio so special. Itâs a fun, low-pressure way for dancers to be part of showcasing our community!
