Happy February, Dancing House families! 💛

Whether you’re cozied up watching the big game or simply soaking in a quiet winter weekend, thank you so much for being here and taking a few minutes to read our monthly update from The Dancing House. This is our little corner of the internet where we share what’s happening in the studio and what exciting things are just around the corner.

As the temperatures finally start creeping above freezing (hallelujah 🙌), we’re leaning into one of our favorite parts of the season — consistency. Fewer breaks, steady routines, and lots of focused learning. It’s the time of year when growth really happens. And while the schedule can feel full, we’re committed to keeping every class fun, energizing, and packed with meaningful progress, because around here, dance education should challenge students and light them up at the same time.

💛 The Dancing House Team

TDHPC and Competition Dancers kick off their Season at INnovate!

Speaking of Company and Competition… our dancers wrapped up January with one of our favorite traditions — attending INnovate Dance Event on January 23rd and 24th and it was such a meaningful, full-heart weekend.

INnovate isn’t just another competition. It’s an experience.

Our girls took master classes from incredible industry professionals, pushed themselves outside their comfort zones, and soaked up new ideas and inspiration. They gave back through the dance community by supporting the Open Door Food Pantry, and they had their pieces adjudicated — receiving thoughtful, professional feedback to help them grow.

That outside perspective is so valuable.
It helps dancers see what’s working, what can improve, and how to level up their training in a healthy, constructive way.

And the timing couldn’t be better.

As competition season begins, our dancers are stepping on stage with routines they’ve been working on all year. INnovate gives them the confidence and clarity to walk into that season stronger, smarter, and more prepared — not just to “compete,” but to grow.

We love everything this event stands for: learning, community, service, and heart.

Miss Melissa has been part of the INnovate family since the very beginning, and it’s always a privilege to support the beautiful work they’re doing in the dance world.

Because at The Dancing House, it’s never just about trophies.
It’s about becoming better dancers… and even better humans.

Our Signature Six-Week Sessions Are Open!

Feb. 1

Our 4th session of six-week classes is now open to the public, and these sessions truly are the heart of The Dancing House. It’s what we’re known for — beginner-friendly, welcoming, and designed to meet dancers exactly where they are. Families love the six-week format because it feels approachable and low-pressure. Instead of committing to a long season, dancers (and parents!) can try something new in a short, focused window of time, build real skills, gain confidence, and see progress quickly — all while having a ton of fun. It’s the perfect “yes, let’s try it” option.

And it’s not just for kids. We offer adult classes in our six-week sessions, too — because dance is for every age and stage of life. Whether you’re a tiny twirler stepping into your very first class or an adult coming back to the barre after years away, there’s a place for you here.

So many of our lifelong dancers started with a simple six-week session. It’s amazing what can grow in just six weeks.

Our Six-Week Session Class Lineup:
💃 Monday 5:25p – 4–5yr Tap/Ballet SOLD OUT
💃 Tuesday 12:00p – Tappy Tuesdays (Open Level – geared for 60+, but we won’t card you 😉)

💃 Tuesday 5:00p – 5–7yr Tap & Tutus

💃 Tuesday 5:55p – 5–7yr Hip Hop SOLD OUT
💃 Wednesday 5:00p – 4–5yr Tap & Tutus
💃 Wednesday 6:00p – 5–7yr Tap & Tutus
💃 Wednesday 7:00p – Adult Tap
💃 Thursday 4:30p – 3–5yr Tap/Tumble SOLD OUT
💃 Thursday 5:25p – 6–8yr Tap & Tutus
💃 Thursday 6:15p – Teen/Adult Hip Hop
💃 Friday 10:00a – Two Too Cute
💃 Friday 10:30a – 3–4yr Tap/Tumble
💃 Friday 11:30a – Ballet Barre (geared for 60+, but again… no ID required 😉)

At The Dancing House, it’s always more than just dance, it’s community, confidence, movement, and making the highlight of your week! We keep our class sizes small (only 8 students) so these classes fill! Save your spot today.

TDHPC and Competition Dancers Capture their Season with Mielrosse Photography

The Dancing House - Company Photos 2026 (8)

This past week was such a fun one here at The Dancing House, and one of the highlights was welcoming Izzy from Mielrose Photography into the studio to photograph our Company and Competition dancers. The Dancing House - Company Photos 2026 (6)

Izzi did an absolutely beautiful job capturing not just the technique and strength of our dancers, but their personalities and heart, too. She’s not only incredibly talented behind the camera, she’s also a genuinely wonderful human and a Platinum Sponsor of The Dancing House — which makes supporting and showcasing her work even more special to us.

We love partnering with people who truly care about our kids and our community. She’ll be back in April to photograph our full year students (we can’t wait!), but for now, here’s a little glimpse of our Company and Competition dancers. We’re so happy with how everything turned out and so grateful for the magic she creates.

"I love how you explain it!

You tell us exactly what muscles we should be feeling & how we need to engage them so we can dance even bigger!"

And that's why you work with a professional coach!

Here at The Dancing House, we excel in teaching proper technique so that dancers can have a full and healthy dance career - at any age.

We give students focused and energetic time filled with hands-on corrections, metaphors and analogies, strength and conditioning exercises, topped off with a healthy dose of positive encouragement!

Dancers walk out of their coaching session with a new vibrance in their dancing because they are quickly able to level up and confidently walk into their next class, audition or performance.

Email hello@thedancinghouse to schedule or log into your parent portal account.

Giving Back Together at FMSC

IMG_4185

One of the most meaningful parts of our weekend had nothing to do with the stage at all.

It had everything to do with heart.

Our dancers had the opportunity to give back by volunteering with Feed My Starving Children, an organization Ms. Melissa has supported for many, many years. It’s something she deeply believes in — and something we love sharing with our studio family.

Because at The Dancing House, we don’t just teach dance.

We teach compassion.
We teach service.
We teach our students that their gifts can make a difference in the world.

So when families showed up at 5:00pm on a Friday evening to pack meals for kids in need, it meant so much. Watching our dancers work side by side — laughing, scooping, sealing, packing — knowing their hands were helping feed children across the globe… that’s the kind of impact that lasts a lifetime.

Here’s a snapshot of our group this year and the difference they made.

Moments like this remind us:
We’re not just raising great dancers.
We’re raising great humans.

Spring Camps Announced!

 March 19 Camp

We’re excited to pilot a brand-new camp experience designed to support dancers ages 6–10 in a more intentional, full-body way. This small-group camp blends outdoor movement, strength and flexibility training, dance, reflection, and connection—all in a way that feels fun, age-appropriate, and very “TDH.”

The day begins with outdoor movement (a hike or sledding, weather permitting), followed by stretching, strength, tumbling, and healthy movement habits that support strong dancers for life. We’ll provide lunch, which the dancers will assemble themselves, and guide them through a short journaling activity focused on confidence, goals, and finishing the season feeling proud. We’ll end the day with dance—progressions, movement, and joy.

This is a limited pilot camp, intentionally capped to keep the experience meaningful.
Ages 6–10 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM | $89 (lunch included)

If you’re looking for something a little different—something that nurtures body, confidence, and connection—this is it.
Spots are limited, and we expect this to fill quickly.  CLICK HERE to save your spot!
