As I write this, I'm sitting in the picture window at Hummingbird Estates, looking out over the gardens. This past weekend we added a fountain in the “pool” as my partner calls it, and as if on cue, a hummingbird just flew by.

In 2009—just a few weeks after baby #3 was born—I started The Dancing House out of my 800-square-foot basement. I’d already been teaching for years, had a reputation in the community as a trusted dance educator, and thought, Let’s see if people will come to the house. They did.
