2026 September Highlights at The Dancing House

Your GO TO Spot for ALL Things at TDH!
(please share with your favorite people!)
Don’t worry, it’s not September 1st yet. 😉 We’re just actually on top of it this month!
But here we go, TDH families. We’re getting ready for the September ride—and it really is a bit of a roller coaster, isn’t it, parents?
Some of you are walking a little one into preschool for the first time. Some are sending a kindergartener off with a backpack that looks almost as big as they are. Some are navigating new schools, new teachers, new schedules and new activities. And some of you are dropping a kiddo off at college.
I’ve been there, done that, have the T-shirt, and I get it. September comes with ALL the feels.
There are so many firsts and milestones packed into this season, and it’s completely normal to feel emotional, excited, exhausted and a little overwhelmed. And here’s something worth remembering: our kiddos are feeling it, too.
They’re adjusting to new routines, expectations, people and schedules. As parents and caretakers, one of the best things we can do is lead with confidence and reassurance. One day at a time. One new routine at a time. The first week might be a little sticky, but routines will form, everyone will find their rhythm, and it’s going to be okay.
And while we’re talking about routines, give yourself permission to make things easier.
Pack the bag the night before. Grab the snack. Write down the to-do list so it doesn’t have to live in your head. And most importantly—you don't have to carry all of it.
Our kiddos can step up, too. They can pack their dance bag. Fill their water bottle. Grab their snack. Put their shoes by the door. Load what they need into the car. These little responsibilities are part of helping them become the kind, confident, capable humans we’re all working together to raise.
And when it doesn't go perfectly? That's okay, too.
Forgot the dance shoes? We probably have a pair.
Didn't have time to grab a snack? We've got you.
Running in a little frazzled because it was just one of those days? Come on in.
We're here to help. We're here to serve. And we're here to love on your kiddo right alongside you.
And speaking of September, our next big week is coming! Our Six-Week Sessions begin September 14, which somehow feels far away and right around the corner at the same time. We cannot wait to welcome a whole new group of dancers through our doors.
And to our seasoned TDH families, I have a little challenge for you: when you see a family or dancer you don't recognize, say hello. Introduce yourself. Help them find the right studio. Tell them something you love about TDH. Remember what it felt like when you were the new family walking through those doors.
Because The Dancing House isn't simply a place where we take dance classes.
We're a community.
And I'm incredibly grateful you're part of it.
Here’s to a beautiful, messy, exciting September. We've got this. ❤️

Adult Dance Classes: More Than Just Dance
At The Dancing House, our adult classes are about so much more than learning steps. They're about saying "yes" to yourself. They're about stepping away from the to-do list, trying something new, moving your body, challenging your mind, and rediscovering the joy that comes from simply having fun.
What surprises many of our adult dancers is the community they find along the way. We laugh just as much as we dance. We celebrate new grandbabies, rally around one another through difficult diagnoses, mourn losses together, and cheer each other on through every season of life. Week after week, friendships are built that extend far beyond the dance floor.
Whether you've danced your entire life or have always wanted to try, you'll find a welcoming place here. No pressure. No judgment. Just movement, music, laughter, and a community that's excited to have you.
Our next six-week session begins September 14!

Consider private lessons. They are a great way to double down on the work they learn in class and go further faster. Work on technique, focus on turns or leaps or clean that solo for competition! You'll leave the studio stronger and even more confident!
And private lessons are available at any age!
Why We Partner With Local Businesses

There is a student at The Dancing House who absolutely loves ballet.
She shows up eager to learn, works hard in class, and has the kind of determination that teachers notice right away. Like many families, however, life isn't always simple. Circumstances outside of dance sometimes make consistent participation challenging.
Because of our scholarship fund and community partners, we've been able to ensure that this student continues dancing, even during seasons when it may not have been financially possible. We've been able to hold her place in class, provide tuition assistance, and most importantly, keep her connected to a community where she belongs.
And she's not the only one.
Every year, we meet students with incredible potential and a genuine desire to dance, but summer classes, additional training opportunities, or even regular tuition may not fit within the family budget. Through the generosity of our sponsors, we're able to offer scholarships, provide extra classes to dedicated students who are eager to grow, and make sure dance remains accessible to children who need it most.
At The Dancing House, we believe dance is for everybody.
When local businesses partner with us, they're doing more than supporting a dance studio. They're investing in confidence, belonging, discipline, creativity, and opportunities for young people in our community. They're helping students stay connected to something they love.
In return, we work hard to support and promote the businesses that support us. We view our sponsors as true partners and are committed to helping them gain meaningful visibility within our community of families.
If you'd like to help make dance accessible to more students while growing awareness for your business, we'd love to partner with you.

“Now that my youngest is entering high school this year, I am looking back at her years at The Dancing House and realizing just how many good memories were made inside those four walls!
She learned to dance, obviously, but she also made some of her very best friends there that she still hangs out with today!
And having known Melissa for years (and still getting to call her a friend ❤️), I know how much she cares about the studio, her dancers and the families who walk through the doors.
A lot of hours were spent at TDH over the years and I’m really grateful for them. It was such a great chapter of my daughter's childhood and there are so many good memories attached to it.”
