Dance is more than performance art. Dance can be therapeutic! Research is showing that dance can be used as a multimodal form of neurorehabilitation for people with Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Fiona Gupta (director of the Division of Movement Disorders at New York Neurology Associates) is a neurologist who says, “Parkinson’s medication manages symptoms, but dance may help rewire compensatory neural pathways.”

(For dancers ages 10+)

ChatGPT Image May 20, 2026, 11_35_57 AM

Do you have a dedicated dancer who wants to strengthen their dance education? Our Performance Company was created to provide dancers the opportunities to deepen their dance education through engaging choreography, guest instructors, and extra performance opportunities.

If you this sounds good to you, here’s what you need to know:

  • Performance Company dancers are required to take two weekly technique classes (one of which must be ballet, for those considering competition)

  • Performance Company rehearsals are on Fridays, from 4:30-6:00 PM

  • Dancers who demonstrate advanced skills or have a minimum of two years on TDHPC may also audition to compete as a soloist, duet, or in a small group at area competitions. These dancers dedicate additional time to rehearsing their competition pieces to ensure they're fully prepared to shine on stage.

Time: 12:00-3:00PM

Registration Cost: $40 (increases to $50 after July 5th)

Our 18th Season is OPEN for Enrollment!

As of May 1st, registration for our 2026–2027 yearlong classes is now open to the public at The Dancing House.

Whether your dancer is looking for ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pom & kick or hip hop. We offer classes from beginner through advanced, all designed with intention, care, and real growth in mind.

But here’s what makes us different…

We are a boutique studio by design.
That means:
💛 Small class sizes (most average around 6 dancers)
💛 Hands-on, personalized instruction
💛 Developmentally appropriate training
💛 And a place where your student is truly seen

You’re not just a number here.
We know your dancer. We know your family. We celebrate the little things, and the big ones too.

This is where confidence is built.
This is where friendships grow.
This is where dancers become kind, capable humans.

If you’ve been thinking about it… this is your moment. Because once those spots are gone, they’re gone.

Come see why so many families say, “this just feels different.”

Adult Dance Classes: More Than Just Dance

Adult Classes

At The Dancing House, our adult classes are about so much more than learning steps. They're about saying "yes" to yourself. They're about stepping away from the to-do list, trying something new, moving your body, challenging your mind, and rediscovering the joy that comes from simply having fun.

What surprises many of our adult dancers is the community they find along the way. We laugh just as much as we dance. We celebrate new grandbabies, rally around one another through difficult diagnoses, mourn losses together, and cheer each other on through every season of life. Week after week, friendships are built that extend far beyond the dance floor.

Whether you've danced your entire life or have always wanted to try, you'll find a welcoming place here. No pressure. No judgment. Just movement, music, laughter, and a community that's excited to have you.

Our next six-week session begins September 14!

Adult Class Schedule

  • Tappy Tuesdays – Tuesdays at 12:00 PM

  • Tendus & Tea (Ballet) – Tuesdays at 1:00 PM (perfect for active adults and seniors)

  • Adult Tap – Wednesdays from 7:15 PM

  • Adult Hip Hop – Thursdays at 7:00 PM

All classes are 6 weeks for $124, and with our flexible makeup policy, you never have to miss out if life gets busy.

Ready to give it a try? We'd love to welcome you! Email hello@thedancinghouse.com to learn more or schedule your FREE trial class.

Is Your Dancer Wanting More?

Consider private lessons.  They are a great way to double down on the work they learn in class and go further faster.  Work on technique, focus on turns or leaps or clean that solo for competition!  You'll leave the studio stronger and even more confident!
And private lessons are available at any age!

Why We Partner With Local Businesses

Preferred Partner

There is a student at The Dancing House who absolutely loves ballet.

She shows up eager to learn, works hard in class, and has the kind of determination that teachers notice right away. Like many families, however, life isn't always simple. Circumstances outside of dance sometimes make consistent participation challenging.

Because of our scholarship fund and community partners, we've been able to ensure that this student continues dancing, even during seasons when it may not have been financially possible. We've been able to hold her place in class, provide tuition assistance, and most importantly, keep her connected to a community where she belongs.

And she's not the only one.

Every year, we meet students with incredible potential and a genuine desire to dance, but summer classes, additional training opportunities, or even regular tuition may not fit within the family budget. Through the generosity of our sponsors, we're able to offer scholarships, provide extra classes to dedicated students who are eager to grow, and make sure dance remains accessible to children who need it most.

At The Dancing House, we believe dance is for everybody.

When local businesses partner with us, they're doing more than supporting a dance studio. They're investing in confidence, belonging, discipline, creativity, and opportunities for young people in our community. They're helping students stay connected to something they love.

In return, we work hard to support and promote the businesses that support us. We view our sponsors as true partners and are committed to helping them gain meaningful visibility within our community of families.

If you'd like to help make dance accessible to more students while growing awareness for your business, we'd love to partner with you.

Above the Barre: Investing in Dance Educators

At The Dancing House, we believe great teachers never stop learning. Just as we encourage our students to grow in confidence, character, and skill, it's equally important that dance educators continue to learn, connect, and be inspired.

That's why Ms. Melissa is proud to launch Above the Barre: Dance Teacher Education Day, a one-day workshop designed specifically for dance educators who care deeply about their students and their impact. This intimate event brings together respected leaders in dance education, wellness, injury prevention, ballet training, adaptive teaching, and classroom management for a day filled with practical tools, meaningful conversations, and fresh inspiration.

Whether you're a teacher looking for stronger systems without losing heart, better structure without sacrificing creativity, or simply a chance to reconnect with why you started teaching in the first place, this day was created for you.

Featured presenters include Stephanie Campbell, Greta Lewis, representatives from St. Croix Ballet, Angela Mannella-Hoffman, physical therapists from Twin Cities Orthopedics, and other experts dedicated to helping teachers thrive both inside and outside the studio.

Monday, July 20 | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
451 Stageline Road, Hudson, WI
Lunch included • Happy Hour to follow

If you're a dance educator—or know one who would benefit from a day of learning, connection, and encouragement—we'd love for you to share this opportunity.

It didn’t take us long to realize this was the studio for us. Ms. Melissa is all around awesome and my young daughter loves dance class. I love that you can make up session if you get sick and don’t lose out. I also love the 6 week session that we could drop out or pause if needed. I doubt we will ever pause dance, but nice to know we can 😊
